Athena processor performs up to 100,000 SSL/IKE computations

Designed for computation-intensive SoC applications, the EXP-A1100 security processor performs 5,000 to 100,000 RSA private key operations per second of SSL/IKE computations.

A member of the TeraFire product line, the processor also incorporates an accelerator engine that is capable of executing executes 1 trillion 16-bit MACs per second in IP cores and extends support to the RSA and Diffie-Hellman algorithms.

"Athena's proprietary technology is ideal for extremely computationally intensive problems, delivering over twice the performance in less than half silicon and power of previous solutions," said Dr. Jon Mellott, CTO of Athena. "This Performance Density enables new classes of applications in both the ultra-high performance and ultra-low power domains," he added.

Each TeraFire core package is delivered with a customer-specified library along with the core itself, verification suites, timing and simulation models, and user support documentation.
