The TC356510 Bluetooth baseband LSI from Toshiba Corp. manages the execution of the Bluetooth protocol stack that controls the wireless communication and profiles, allowing the CPU to be fully-dedicated to the application software.

The device also integrates profiles required to interface with application software, but can be programmed with the customer's own Bluetooth protocol stack and interface. It supports various Bluetooth protocol stacks and profiles including LMP, RFCOMM, L2CAP, HEADSET, and HCI.

The baseband processor adopts Nokia's Bluetooth core circuit technology and also incorporates an ARM7TDMI processor core from ARM Ltd. The TC356510 also features a buffer RAM and mask ROM for installing Bluetooth lower layer software.

External interfaces for extensible RAM, Flash ROM, and EEPROM, as well as host interface for UART (up to 921.6Kbps) and PCM digital audio interface are provided.

Available in 113-pin FBGA and 100-pin flip-chip versions, the TC356510 consumes 25mA when receiving a signal and 205A when idle.
