Infineon Technologies AG has opened its latest U.S. office facility in New York City. The facility will serve as a platform for the company to promote its brand to key financial, political, and commercial audiences in the region.

According to Infineon, they generate 22 percent of its global revenue in North America and in fact, nine of its 30 strategic and global customers are U.S.-based. "Over the next two years we plan to strengthen our market position, particularly with the expansion of our logic business in automotive electronics and communications as well as memory products, capturing an overall market share of five percent by 2005," said Dr. Ulrich Schumacher, president and CEO of Infineon.

In addition to its North American headquarters in San Jose, California, Infineon recently opened an operations center and R&D facility, in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina, which specializes in the development of memory products.
