Elpida DIMMs have 4.3GBps data transfer rate

Elpida Memory Inc. has announced volume production of its 512Mb-based 2GB DDR2 registered dual in-line memory modules (DIMMs).

The EBE21RD4ABHA-xx modules offer high-speed performance with a data transfer rate of 4.3GBps. It is based on the company's 512Mb DDR2 SDRAM devices that operate up to 533Mbps. The modules are organized as 256M words x 72-bits x 2 ranks, and contain thirty-six 0.11?m, 512Mb DDR2 devices that are stacked and mounted on the DIMMs.

The mounted devices have a CAS latency of 3, 4 and 5 with a burst length of 4 and 8. The standard 240-pin DIMMs have a JEDEC-compliant outline with a thickness of 4.8mm. Supporting error checking and correction necessary for high-end server applications, the modules also offer 1.8V operation.
