Accelerated Nucleus RTOS provides for Quatech ThinQ line

Accelerated Technology, a Mentor Graphics division, disclosed that its Nucleus RTOS has been used by Quatech to develop the ThinQ line of wired and wireless serial device servers.

David Johnson, product marketing manager, Quatech, stated, "We chose the Nucleus RTOS because of its proven reputation, no-royalties business model and the wide variety of middleware components available. Each of these advantages will help us keep our ThinQ serial device servers one step ahead of the competition."

On the hardware side, Quatech's developers planned to use the Freescale semiconductor MPC855T microprocessor and were pleased that the Nucleus RTOS already supported this chip. Quatech was also interested in the add-on capabilities of the Nucleus RTOS, for future products such as SNMP support, PCMCIA extensions and 802.11b wireless technologies.
