Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has once again extended its IHLP family of low-profile, high-current inductors with a new device that offers the lowest direct current resistance (DCR)/?H available in a compact 10.2-by-11.5mm package with a low 4mm height profile.

With industry-leading specifications including DCR values down to 0.65 milliohm at 0.19?H, the new Vishay Dale IHLP-4040DZ-05 is a high-performance, space- and power-saving solution for dc-dc converter applications for products such as mobile devices, notebook computers, desktop computers, and servers. Other applications include low-profile, high-current power supplies, point of load (POL) converters, distributed power systems and FPGAs.

This new power inductor handles high transient current spikes without saturation and operates over a frequency range up to 5MHz. Saturation current and typical DCR values for the inductor range from 40A to 60A and from 1.55 milliohms to 0.65 milliohm, respectively, over an inductance range of 0.56?H to 0.19?H. Inductance tolerance is 20 percent. The operating temperature range is -55C to 125C.

The RoHS-compliant device features a 100 percent Pb-free, shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to ultra-low levels.

Pricing for U.S. delivery starts at 65 cents per piece for quantities of 10,000, in 500-piece reels. Samples and productions quantities are available now with a lead time of eight weeks for large orders.
