Synopsys VCS NTB solution verifies Huawei ASIC designs

Synopsys Inc.'s VCS comprehensive RTL verification solution with Native Testbench (NTB) technology and comprehensive coverage has been adopted by Huawei Technologies for verification of complex broadband asic designs.

According to Huawei, it has achieved multiple first-pass silicon successes with VCS NTB and has accelerated verification closure with NTB for up to five times faster performance over stand-alone testbench solutions.

Ai Wei, SVP of Huawei Technologies, stated, "The high performance of Synopsys' VCS NTB technology and comprehensive coverage has helped us save weeks of verification time compared with earlier approaches, while finding critical bugs and enabling consistent first-pass silicon success."

VCS' NTB technology with support for SystemVerilog and OpenVera deploys a single-compiler architecture to optimize design, testbench, assertions and coverage, delivering up to five times faster verification performance compared to independent testbench and simulation environments. NTB supports advanced testbench capabilities such as constrained-random stimulus generation, object-oriented programming, advanced data types, and more.

The VCS solution's built-in code and functional coverage engines help ensure more predictable verification closure by enabling engineers to accurately monitor verification progress over time, and to determine when verification is complete.
