Double-balanced mixers convert between 4GHz to 38GHz

Hittite Microwave Corp. has introduced three mixers within the company's Connectorized Module Product Line. These hermetic mixer modules are well suited for military, space, wideband telecom, industrial, microwave radio and test equipment applications from 4GHz to 38GHz.

The HMC-C009 is a 4GHz to 8.5GHz I/Q mixer module that can be used as either an image reject mixer or a single sideband converter. The GaAs MMIC based HMC-C009 features 23dBm input third-order intercept point (IP3), 35dB image rejection, and 40dB of LO to RF isolation.

The HMC-C014 and HMC-C015 double-balanced mixer modules operate from 16GHz to 32GHz, and from 24GHz to 38GHz, respectively. Both offer very wide IF bandwidth of DC to 8GHz and high LO to RF and LO to IF isolations of up to 40dB. These passive mixer modules require no DC bias, and may also be used as bi-phase modulators/demodulators, or as wideband phase comparators.

Each of these mixer modules feature removable SMA connectors which can be detached to allow direct connection of the module's I/O pins to a microstrip or coplanar circuit. The Connectorized Module Product Line utilizes Hittite's standard wideband MMIC products taking advantage of the company's design, manufacturing and quality knowledge base.
