SAW filters target multiple mobile phone standards

Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co. Ltd (NDK) has launched a series of miniature SAW filters that meet several global mobile phone standards including PCS, GSM, EGSM and DCS. These tiny 2-by-1.6-by-0.6mm devices feature unbalanced to balanced operation.

The WF752C1960PD SAW filters are designed for PCS 1900 applications with a nominal frequency of 1,960MHz. Typical insertion loss is 2.3dB and typical amplitude ripple is 0.7dB.

The WF753C0881PD targets GSM 850 applications with a nominal frequency of 881.5MHz, a typical insertion loss of 1.9dB and a typical amplitude ripple of 0.7dB. The WF755C0942PD, developed for EGSM 900, features a nominal frequency of 942.5MHz, typical insertion loss of 2.3dB and typical amplitude ripple of 0.9dB.

The WF754C1842PD operates in DCS 1800 applications with a nominal frequency of 1,842.5MHz. It provides a typical insertion loss of 2.2dB and a typical amplitude ripple of 0.9.

These surface-mount SAW filters offer an input impedance of 50 ohms (unbalanced) and an output impedance of 150 ohms (balanced). The operating temperature is -300C to 850C. These devices are also lead free and RoHS compliant, and are designed to withstand reflow soldering requirements using Pb-free solder.

The SAW filters are priced at 25 cents in quantities of 10,000. Delivery is 12 weeks.
