Power amps for linear WiMAX apps

Mimix Broadband has introduced a family of internally pre-matched power amplifiers designed for linear WiMAX applications at 700MHz, 2.5GHz and 3.5GHz. According to the company, these devices are processed in a highly repeatable InGaP high-voltage, heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) process and include on-chip diodes for ESD protection.

This family of devices promises 11dB of gain and less than 2.5 percent EVM at 30dBm output power, with an OFDM input signal and a peak to average ratio (PAR) of 9dB. The devices operate off a single supply voltage up to 12V and include internal active bias circuitry. The CHV family includes the added feature of analog adjustment of bias current to address a variety of applications, Mimix said.

These linear power amplifiersthe CHV2707, CHV2710 and CHV2711operate at 700MHz, 2.5GHz and 3.5GHz, respectively. Evaluation boards are available to help engineers test the products and apply them to their designs.
