O2Micro International Ltd was granted 15 claims under U.S. patent number 7,064,521 for its high accuracy voltage mode battery charging invention, a continuation of the invention issued March 2005 under U.S. patent number 6,861,823.

The company's patented battery charging IC architecture regulates the charging cycle to provide accurate charging and charge termination. It offers the design community higher charge accuracy, simplified loop compensation, and a lower parts count than other battery charge controller solutions on the market today. Applications include notebook computers.

"With this patent continuation, O2Micro can continue to expand the Charger family benefits for solutions built on this core architecture,'' commented Alex Hartular, vice president, O2Micro.
