Visitors to the China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components, slated on October 11-14 at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, will have the chance to meet with electronics industry experts, and learn the latest market developments, product trends and technologies at a series of seminars to be held at different venues during the four-day event.

Alexander Kupfer, managing director of NEXTBASE and Apollo Worldwide Ltd., will discuss on October 12 the latest car entertainment product trends and market outlook. Industry experts believe that export growth will be spurred by the rapidly growing demand for cars with combined DVD player and navigation functions. Kupfer will give an overview of the capabilities of car entertainment product suppliers as well as price trends and new product functionalities in 2007 and beyond. This seminar is designed for buyers wishing to gain a thorough understanding of the booming car entertainment industry.

On October 13, Beat Kreuter, general manager of Nemko China Group, will shed light on the EuP directive, deemed by many as the next biggest compliance challenge for the electronics industry. To be implemented in mid-2007, the new "green" compliance program is the logical step towards the European Union's vision of sustainability. The seminar will familiarize buyers and manufacturers with the latest requirements and compliance methods. Kreuter will also show how compliance can spell considerable cost savings, and sales and marketing advantages for companies.

RFID and its applications will be the focus of the seminar to be conducted on the same day by Eric Li, managing director of Broadway Management Services Ltd. Li will help attendees understand RFID-related terminologies and standards, the pros and cons of RFID applications, future trends, and the benefits of using RFID in the manufacturing, logistics and pharmaceutical industries. He will also show by way of demonstrations how and why market leaders like Coca-Cola and Philip Morris are pushing this new technology.

Admission to the China Sourcing Fair seminars is free.
