Targeting the growing portable devices market, MCS Logic unveiled the MLC9000 series of VoIP processors with access to various types of storage such as USB, SD/MMC card and NOR, NAND flash.

The MLC9000 series architecture runs up to 100MHz and is based on Internal AMBA and ARM7TDMI-s 32bit RISC, enabling the processors to provide optimum performance and code density for the combination of control code, file system management and system control, the company said.

Using 0.13? technology, the VoIP processor series delivers high performance and power in three package types: 88 ELP, 128 TQFP and 128 FBGA. The devices also pack a 36Kbyte on-chip general SRAM and 19 GPIOs.

Compliant to the USB 2.0 specification, the MCL9000 supports high-speed and full-speed dual-mode operation. The devices also support control, interrupt, bulk and ISO transfer. In addition, they have four independent chip selectors with a dedicated NAND-type flash memory controller and SDIO card controller at 1bit, 4bit and 8bit modes.
