MAX17024

Maxim Integrated Products has released the MAX17024 single, Quick-PWM step-down controller with dynamic REFIN. Packaged in a tiny, 3mm x 3mm, 14-pin TDFN package, this controller is designed for stepping down high voltages in notebook applications.

This device utilizes Maxim's constant-on-time, Quick-PWM architecture to support wide I/O voltage ratios and provide top transient response, while maintaining a relatively constant switching frequency.

Operating from a 0 to 24V input voltage, the MAX17024 can generate any output voltage from 0 to Vin. Additionally, it increases flexibility by allowing the use of any kind of output capacitor; compensation is not required if using polymers or tantalum capacitors.

The MAX17024 also features overvoltage, undervoltage and thermal protection, and is fully specified over the -40C to 85C extended industrial temperature range. Prices start at $2.85 (1000-up, FOB USA).
