With 16:9 ratio as the new global standard among panel vendors, BenQ Corp. continues to redesign its brand with innovation and improved technologies using "ultragreen" 16:9 720p models to minimize environmental impact and enhance cost-performance. The company's latest E900HD and G900HD features employ 16:9 formats enabling superior display of HD content and unique two-lamp design that provides the bright 300nits of four-lamp models, all conserving substantial energy and reducing carbon dioxide and mercury emissions. These two models are compatible with BenQ's HD 16:9 LCD series launched earlier this month, and let HD visual appeal be enjoyable from living room to desktop gaming, work, and video watching.

Drive for green
The glossy black E900HD and silver-black G900HD not only promote BenQ's visibility in visual display with the latest format and smart-user preference, but also generate the company's objective of claiming environmental awareness.

"BenQ is committed to bringing enjoyment coupled with the quality of life," said Peter Chen, general manager, technology product center, BenQ. "With these new product offerings, we showcase how enjoyment reaches far beyond not only in hardware and technology, but to the rest of the natural world. Our new low-energy, low-emission models will set the trend for 16:9 format as well as promote social and environmental responsibility. BenQ stays on top of the new format trend by introducing the world's first 21.5-inch full HD model earlier this month, and setting the trend for greener 16:9 displays," he added.

Setting new boundaries
BenQ's two-lamp design has some benefits over common four-lamp displays. The 18.5-inch models stay a 300nit brightness and 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (DCR), but take only 30W total power. Emissions of CO2 are drastically declined by 25 percent while that of mercury is reduced 50 percent.

Among the other offerings of the company's new 16:9 full HD/HD series, the E and G 18.5-inch models enhance the digital lifestyle enjoyment by expanding HD viewing application from limited living room use to boundless possibilities in the study, office, classroom, bedroom, kitchen and more. All multimedia work and gaming applications are displayed via a smooth 5ms response time, 720p high-definition and Senseye+photo, a proprietary digital image enhancement engine that enhances picture quality per application with five preset modes such as Standard, Dynamic, Photo, Movie and sRGB. Image quality is also shown flawlessly with an ultrahigh 10,000:1 DCR that helps blacks to display subtle dark details in superb definition. Both models have convenient D-Sub input and DVI-D with high-bandwidth digital content protection. The E900HD also has headphone jack and integrated speakers. Both models are Vista Premium-certified.
