Qualcomm Inc. and Shenzhen Sanmu Communication Technology Co. Ltd, a mobile handset and terminal solution provider in Hong Kong, have entered into a 3G subscriber unit and module/modem card (including PCB assemblies) license agreement.

Under the terms of the royalty bearing agreement, Qualcomm has granted Sanmu a worldwide patent license to develop, manufacture and sell subscriber units and module/modem cards implementing the CDMA2000 and/or TD-SCDMA standards. The royalties payable by Sanmu are at Qualcomm's standard worldwide rates.

"Qualcomm promotes a dynamic marketplace in which its partners are able to utilize advanced technologies and innovative ideas to bring new and exciting products and services to wireless users," said Derek Aberle, executive VP and president of Qualcomm Technology Licensing. "The growing number of Qualcomm licensees like Sanmu who continue to enter and compete in the wireless market enables consumers to benefit from a broader choice of features, functions and applications in their wireless devices."

"Sanmu is committed to maintaining a spirit of innovation and to bringing a full range of wireless products to our customers," said Jason Zhang, president of Sanmu. "We are pleased to enter into this patent license agreement with leading wireless innovator Qualcomm, which will help to position us as a recognized provider in the wireless market."
