Sony's Dash personal Internet viewer, featuring a 7-inch color touchscreen and running the Linux operating system, offers access to over 1,000 free Internet apps. Those apps include those originally designed for its Chumby product, news, calendars, weather, sports, social networking and e-mail. It uses an existing home wireless connection to continuously deliver Internet content to viewers.

In addition, Sony's Dash can run multiple content types simultaneously. User can listen to Internet radio, for example, while browsing through online photo albums. Sony also is offering Dash apps for movie trailers, music videos, custom user themes, including an app from Dr. Oz offering daily health and exercise tips. The unit will be available in April for $199.

The portable "bloggie" camera is designed to "capture everyday moments" for posting on the Web. The new camera features a rotating lens that swivels 270 degrees to capture images from most any angle. One model comes with a bundled kit option (shown here) that includes a lens to let users experience 360 video. After attaching the lens, the camera captures 360 footage that can be viewed on a computer equipped with Picture Motion Browser software.

Three cameras, MHS-CM5, MHS-PM5K and MHS-PM5, are available for about $200, $190 and $170, respectively.

Sony TransferJet

Sony's TransferJet technology allows users to transfer files between two TransferJet-enabled devices just by bringing the TransferJet marks on each product within one inch of each other. To store images, one can place the two new cameras, either HX5V or TX7, on the lower left-hand corner of the VAIO F Series notebook to import photos.
