Keywords:conductive film? nanotechnology? EMI shielding?

ARC Technologies Inc. has rolled out the ARC Clear Conductive Electromagnetic Shielding (AC2ES), an ultra-thin film that gives flexibility and versatility for applications requiring transparent EMI shielding materials. It uses the latest nanotechnology to provide high levels shielding effectiveness while remaining optically clear.

The AC2ES materials can be flat or shaped into 3D forms, and are available in sheets or rolls with conductivity between 0.1/square and 6/square, 70 per cent to 80 per cent transparency, and shielding effectiveness (SE) of 20dB to 40dB from 2GHz to 18GHz.

The shielding materials are ideal for applications requiring shields with optical clarity including transparent windows, transparent heaters, RFID tags, wearable electronics, thin film devices, and transparent antenna patterning. They can even be transferred to glass and other substrates for use as transparent antennas in wireless electronic products, including in Bluetooth, cellular, and near-field-communications (NFC) devices.
