Adlink Technology has introduced a four-channel data acquisition module that connects external analogue sensors with a USB interface and thus with a PC that can store, process and visualise the results. Combining a simultaneous sample rate of 2Msps with the simplicity and universal applicability of the USB port, the USB-1210 targets applications with portable ultrasound and optical sensors, indicated the company.

Each of the four channels is equipped with a separate ADC that features a dynamic range of -100dB THD and an ENOB value of 14.3bits. The measurements can be synchronised to scrutinise time-critical processes. An on-board FIFO with a depth of 256MS buffers up to 16s of data at maximum recording speed of 2Msps, preventing data loss caused by slow CPU response, added Adlink.

In addition, the integrated precision voltage source facilitates automatic calibrating. Since no external instruments are required, the impact of ambient temperature variations is reduced and the accuracy is maximised. The inputs can be programmed for input voltage ranges of ±2V or ±10V.

The Adlink USB-120 supports external digital and analogue trigger sources as well as range of flexible trigger modes. It supports Windows 7 and 8 and is compatible with a range of software environments including LabView, Matlab and Visual Studio.net. Settings and operation can be done by the U-Test software provided by Adlink without additional cost.

The USB port is equipped with a mechanical lock; the multifunctional stand enables the use as a desktop device as well as wall mounting and DIN rail mounting.
