Keysight enables wideband digital receiver to fit PXIe format

Keysight Technologies just released a M9203A 12-bit digitiser/receiver that samples 3.2 Gsamples/s with up to 2 GHz of instantaneous bandwidth. It stores up to 4Gbytes of DDR3 acquisition memory and is integrated into a PXIe or PXI hybrid chassis, and the dual-slot 3U module furnishes two channels.

The instrument is powered by a data-processing unit based on a Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGA. This data-processing unit controls module functionality, data flow, and real-time signal processing. It also allows data reduction and storage to be performed at the digitiser level, minimising transfer volumes.

Aimed at applications requiring wideband signal capture and very high dynamic range, the M9203A can be used in wireless communication, radar and satellite communication, and semiconductor automated test systems. Its large Virtex-6 XC6VSX315T FPGA enables enhanced real-time processing and supports custom processing algorithms.

Firmware options for the M9203A include digitiser firmware, interleaved channel sampling functionality, triggered simultaneous acquisition and readout, and wideband real-time digital down-conversion. In addition, firmware is customisable using the U5340A FPGA development kit. For advanced measurement, the M9203A can be combined with Keysight's 89600 vector signal analysis software.

Prices for the M9203A digitiser/receiver module, running at up to 3.2 Gsamples/s, start at $19,110.
