With today's market outlook appearing quite different than it did just a few months ago, ST-NXP Wireless is taking necessary action to adapt its R&D resources and cost structure to the new business conditions in the industry.

ST-NXP needs to cut a lot more than 500 jobs.? If the market continues to show flat to negative growth, then I expect more job cuts to follow.? ST-NXP has a real opportunity to grow if they make some tough decisions - consolidate programs to achieve some efficiency and speed time to market.? Perhaps, leadership may be an issue - unable to make tough strategic decisions to ensure long-term viability.?
