NEC's LaVie L is one of the first laptops to be announced with a future Intel Haswell processor, which has yet to make its grand debut on June 3. The unit will come with a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 8GB of RAM, WiFi, a BDXL drive and a hybrid SSD.

Intel says Haswell is all about better battery life and improved graphics performance (see Intel pitches Haswell as next-gen tablet platform). Haswell's Iris graphics chip also promises to? deliver a two-fold 3D performance increase over the 3rd Gen Intel Core Ivy Bridge chips for both the U- and Mobile H-series processors designed for ultrabooks and higher-performance laptops (see Analyst puts Haswell under microscope).
