Volunteer medics from Japan deployed mobile X-Ray kits as they combed through areas of Tacloban, Philippines which was ravaged by supertyphoon Yolanda (Haiyan) on November 8.

The X-ray devices rapidly transmit images via a wireless router to tablets and laptops of doctors for immediate diagnosis.

Joji Tomioka, coordinator of the Japan Medical Team for Disaster Relief, said the system had been created in response to what doctors needed in the aftermath of the tsunami disaster of 2011. Japaní»s 26-strong medical team is able to provide medicine and carry out minor surgery to about 200 patients a day.
