Providing engineers designing high-speed digital systems with advanced debug and analysis capabilities, the TDS6604 digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) is a 2G high-performance SiGe instrument that provides up to 6GHz bandwidth and simultaneous 20GSa/s sampling rate on two channels.

The oscilloscope enables the transition from wide parallel bus architecture to narrow, point-to-point serial bus architecture with gigabit rates. These include InfiniBand, RapidIO, 3GIO and HyperTransport.

The four-channel, real-time instrument supports single-shot acquisition at 6GHz, facilitating high-speed signal integrity measurements, and enabling accurate capture of brief transients and fast signal edges that affect digital system performance.

The instrument features triggering capabilities, which support clock recovery at data rates up to 2.5Gbps and serial pattern trigger at up to 1.25Gbaud. It also incorporates the OpenWindows platform, providing easy access to industry-standard peripherals, networking elements and analysis tools.

Mask testing capabilities are offered through option SM, which provides a portfolio of masks, allowing users to select from standards, such as SDH/SONET, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, InfiniBand, USB, Serial ATA and IEEE 1394, to perform compliance testing.
