LG.Philips showcases wide-format displays at CES 2002

LG.Philips LCD is demonstrating its 17W and 30W wide-format display modules and 20.1-inch wide-format VGA LCD module at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas.

The LC201V1 20.1-inch display, with a thickness of 24mm, weighs only 3.8kg. It is suitable for wall-mounted LCD TV applications, and is claimed to offer the best color reproduction capability in the market. This unit provides a viewable area equivalent to a 23-inch CRT monitor and is able to receive both analog and digital broadcasting.

The 17W WXGA display is designed for wide-monitor formats, all-in-one PCs and PCTV applications. It offers 1,280x768 resolution, 65-percent color saturation, 400cd/m2 brightness and a response time of 25ms. It has a thickness of 16.2mm and unit weight of 1.9kg.

The 30W WXGA TFT-LCD is aimed for today's HDTV market. It offers a very wide viewing angle of 1700, brightness of 450cd/m2 and resolution of 1,280x768. In addition to its large screen size and slim form-factor of only 46mm, this display also offers a high contrast ratio of 450:1 and aspect ratio of 16:9.6.
