The TK2050 digital audio amplifier chipset consists of a Class-T digital power processor and a new power stage developed in cooperation with STMicroelectronics. The chipset provides 50W of continuous power per channel (8 ohms) in stereo, or up to 170W in monoaural mode and with paralleled outputs.

It offers the high fidelity of Class-AB devices and the power efficiency of Class-D audio amplifiers. The company's patented signal processing is combined with a switching mode approach, generating hi-fi sound with reduced heat dissipation. This chipset is suitable for compact designs for consumer audio applications such as 5.1-channel DVD receivers, miniature/micro components, automotive audio and home entertainment systems.

The digital audio amplifier also exhibits very low distortion of <0.007 percent THD+N. It achieves 88 percent efficiency with a dynamic range >100dB. It is offered in a a 28-pin SOP and a 36-pin PSOP.

Pricing is at $5.50 in high volumes.
