Palm Inc. and Broadcom Corp. will collaborate on an advanced Bluetooth architecture for use in a next-generation Palm handheld computer, the companies announced last Wednesday (Jan. 9) at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Palm will use the architecture, based on Broadcom's BCM2033 transceiver, as a building block for what Palm calls "innovative personal-area networks."
"Broadcom's Bluetooth products are a best-value solution meeting our cost, size, performance and power requirements, while also meeting Bluetooth specifications," said Angel Mendez, SVP of Global Operations at Palm.
