The CS98100 DVD processor integrates three 10-bit video DACs and TV encoding feature with progressive scan functionality, allowing DVD player manufacturers to offer low-cost units with high DTV performance and support for a range of DVD audio standards.

The progressive scan feature enables higher resolution and eliminates the flicker effect found in traditional video playback.

With a customer-programmable 32-bit RISC core running at 90MIPS, the CS98100 can carry out essential decoding/processing functions in home theater systems including DVD navigation, disk control, MPEG-2 video decoding and multistandard audio decoding.

For audio processing, the device supports Dolby Digital, DTS, MP3, WMA and MPEG audio formats, along with virtual speaker output capability.

The CS98100 processor is priced at $20.63 in OEM quantities of 10,000.
