Specifically designed for high-speed optical network applications such as DWDM, OC192/STM64 and OC768/STM256, the TGA4802 modulator driver amplifier from TriQuint Semiconductor Inc. features low additive jitter and edge rates of <15ps. The device also features amplitude and symmetry control, and a 120ps group delay characteristic.
SONET/SDH-compatible through 12.5Gb/s Inverted-Return-to-Zero (IRZ) data rates, the TGA4802 eliminates the need for an additional clock driven modulator, reducing system cost and complexity. The device also provides a comprehensive Forward Error-Correction (FEC) algorithm that allows networks to automatically compensate for fiber anomalies.
The TGA4802 can drive LiNbO3, GaAs, and InP Mach-Zehnder modulators at 8Vpp and 0.75W power dissipation. The device provides 15dB gain for receiver applications. |
