PMC-to-CompactPCI board aids integration

This 3U CompactPCI card, designated PMA-C, hosts any 32- or 64-bit PMC module. There is no PCI-to-PCI bridge to program, which eases software development for integrating PMC (IEEE 1386) mezzanine cards into a CompactPCI system. Instead, the adapter makes a direct PCI bus connection between the PMC and the CompactPCI carrier's J1/J2 connectors.
"The PMA-C is the simplest, fastest way to integrate vital PMC mezzanine cards," said Peritek president Victor Gold. "Passive carriers free integrators from unnecessary software development." The unit supports PCI Rev. 2.1 and PCI 64, and meets the PICMG 2.0 R3.0 revision of the CompactPCI standard. It provides a full 64-bit interconnect between the CPCI and PMC connectors. Jumpers enable the user to select 66MHz operation, PCI PRSNT and PMC BUSMODE. The card also includes test points and power supply LEDs. It comes standard with a 6U faceplate; a 3U faceplate version is also available.
Pricing for the adapter board starts at $244 in 100-piece quantities. Availability is off the shelf.
