Tropian Inc., a Silicon Valley-based advanced wireless communications product company, has received its 12th patent, entitled "Variable Bias Control for Switch Mode RF Amplifier," from the U.S. Patent Office. The latest patent covers key aspects of the power stage of wireless RF transmitters, an element of Tropian's Polar Impact technology.

According to Tropian, its Polar Impact technology is a non-linear, polar modulation architecture that enables multimode capability in wireless handsets and base stations, and offers dramatic improvements in system performance, manufacturability, and reliability.

"This patent is the newest addition to Tropian's rapidly growing IP portfolio," said Dr. Earl McCune, founder, CTO and author of the patent. "The whole portfolio demonstrates the uniqueness of Tropian's approach to polar modulation technology and helps us bring wireless products to market even faster."

Tropian now holds nine U.S. and three foreign patents, and has more than 90 patents pending worldwide.
