American Power Conversion's NetShelter VX enclosures address the issues of increasing power densities, cable management and poor rack ventilation in computer room environments. The enclosure is compatible with all EIA-310 19-inch rack-optimized servers.

The series is offered in three heights: 25U, 42U and 47U, in black or beige. It's also offered in depths of 35.5 inches and 42 inches and widths of 23.5 inches for EIA 19-inch equipment and 29.5 inches for either EIA 19-inch equipment or 23-inch telecommunications gear.

Key features include perforated front and rear doors to maximize airflow by promoting the natural cooling properties of the installed servers.

The company also has introduced an Integrated Rack and Power Solution, essentially a complete UPS for small- to mid-sized data centers and wiring closets. Included in the bundle is the Symmetra RM Power Array, which incorporates units from 2kVA to 6kVA, N+1 units in just 8U of rack space, and 8kVA to 12kVA, N+1 units (or just 16kVA, N) in just 15U. The 42U, 42-inch deep NetShelter VX has an estimated resale price of $1,149 to $1,539. The Integrated Rack and Power Solution has an estimated resale price range from $3,699 to $18,000.
