Conexant video encoders enable HDTV display in TV receivers

The 64-pin TQFP devices feature high-performance TV-out capability with 10-bit DACs, programmable overscan compensation capability ranging from 0 to 25 percent and a resolution range of 320x200 pixels to 1,024x768 pixels.
The CX25874/5 complement the CX25872/3 with the addition of true HDTV display and conforms to the 525p/625p copy-protection standard. In addition, the CX25873 and CX25875 also comply with Macrovision 7.1.L1. The CX25872 and CX25874 are designed for applications that do not require Macrovision copy protection.
The CX25874/5 also integrate the CGMS standards and support 480p, 720p and 1080i Advanced Television Systems Committee standards, and provide triple-level syncs and broad pulses required to connect directly to a digital TV receiver.
The video encoders support NTSC, PAL and SECAM, as well as WSS for 16:9 TV receivers as outlined in by the EIAJ CPR-1204 and ITU-R BT.119 standards. The devices also conform to the CCIR656 and CCIR601 standards.
The CX25872/3 and CX25874/5 are priced at $7 and $10 respectively, each in quantities of 10,000. |
