Holtek dc/dc converter IC integrates voltage detector

The HT7627 PFM step-up dc/dc converter converts a single 1.5V battery power to a stable 2.7V with an output accuracy of 15 percent, while a built-in voltage detector monitors the output voltage. If the output voltage is lower than 2.1V, the detector will generate a signal to reset the MCU to ensure the system's reliability.

The CMOS IC is designed for use in battery-powered system applications with low noise and low supply current such as pagers and RF mouse/keyboards.

The dc/dc converter part of the HT627 consists of a reference voltage source, error amplifier, control transistor, oscillation circuit and output voltage setting resistor. The voltage detector part consists of a high-precision and low-power voltage source, comparator, hysteresis circuit and an output driver.

The 8-pin SOP device features a starting voltage of 0.95V (with 1mA load) and a power consumption of 145A. It has an operating temperature of -250C to 700C. External parts including a coil, diode, and a capacitor are available for obtaining a constant output (2.7V) higher than the input voltage for the dc/dc converter part.
