SMIC boosts monthly capacity with new production line

China wafer foundry Semiconductor Mfg. Int. Corp. (SMIC) has begun mass production using its newly installed high-volume production line. Monthly output increased to 5,000 units of 8-inch wafers from 2,000 units.

The company will establish another production line this August. The output of this production line is expected to reach a monthly output of 5,000 units of 8-inch wafers.
