Teradyne GbX connector features <2 percent crosstalk

Featuring a high density level and <2 percent crosstalk, the GbX connector offers an upgrade path beyond existing 2mm platforms, and provides ease of routing and reduced capacitance for 10Gbps Ethernet interconnect.

The connector is suited for 10Gbps XAUI data rates, with four high-speed pairs per wafer offering 55 differential pairs per linear inch. A 5-pair configuration is also available, offering 69 differential pairs per linear inch.

The GbX provides enhanced signal integrity with 100-ohm matched differential impedance for reduced reflections. A twin-axial structure in the mating area provides added shielding and offers better crosstalk control at fast rise times.

The GbX connector is priced at about 20 cents to 28 cents per mated signal line in full production volumes.
