SPT 8-bit ADC dissipates 450mW

Signal Processing Technologies' SPT7722 8-bit ADC consumes only 450mW during operation and 13.5mW during sleep mode, making it suitable for cost- and power-sensitive communication applications such as wireless local loops and networks.

The ADC can also be used in RGB video displays and portable solid-state projectors, performing 250MSa/s to allow designers to create flat-panel displays with higher resolution rates.

The 44-pin TQFP device has an input bandwidth of 350MHz, DLE of 10.4 LSB and ILE of 10.9LSB, allowing it to recreate digitized, pre-sampled waveforms.

The SPT7722 is available screened for the industrial temperature range of -400C to 850C and priced at $24.20 each in quantities of 1,000. The company is also offering the SPT7720 8-bit ADC, which performs 200MSa/s.
