Autron to take over Assemblion's Asia-Pacific operations

Singapore-based Autron Corp. Ltd has collaborated with SMT equipment maker Assemblion NV, a subsidiary of Royal Philips Electronics, under which Autron will take over its sales and service operations in Asia, selling the company's products under the Assemblion brand.

As a of part of the transaction, a majority of Assemblion employees will be transferred to Autron. Assemblion will keep an office in Asia supporting Autron. The two companies will also set up a joint R&D center in Singapore. The deal is expected to see Autron transform from an equipment distributor into a fully integrated solutions provider.

Autron is a systems integrator and exclusive distributor of SMT hardware and software, with operations in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, Japan and India.
