The SC3 SCSI storage system offers up to 4GB of Flash memory or up to 40GB of hard-disk space on a single-slot 3U card, making it suitable for use in network routers, military computer systems, aviation and vehicle-based computers.

It also offers disk or DAT drive emulation, 256-byte or 512-byte sector sizes, storage partitioning and the ability to set the logical capacity by "destroking."

The SC3 integrates a PCI-to-SCSI controller and SCSI BIOS ROM, thereby eliminating the need for an SCSI adapter or a PMC adapter. An optional J2 connector allows the SCS bus to be distributed through rear I/O for connection to other devices.

The field-upgradable device is available in a Flash drive model (SC3F) that operates with a 3V or 5V supply. It has an operating shock resistance of 20Gs (11ms) and a maximum R/W rate of 10.02MBps and 8.66MBps, respectively. The SC3F is available in 64MB to 4GB capacities.

The SC3H model uses a 2.5-inch hard-drive that also operates from a 3V or 5V supply. It has an operating shock resistance of 150Gs (2ms) or 15Gs (11ms). The model has a maximum R/W of 8.14MBps and 8.94MBps, respectively. The SC3H is available in 10, 20, 30 and 40GB capacities.

All SC3 models comply with the ANSI X3 131-1994 standard. OEM pricing for a 2GB Flash version is $3,600, while the 40GB hard disk version is priced at $750.
