Maxim LVECL/LVPECL splitters feature 208ps propagation delay

The MAX9320/MAX9320A LVECL/LVPECL splitters feature a low propagation delay of 208ps and part-to-part skew of 20ps making it suitable for clock and data distribution in automatic test equipment, CO switches, networking switches and routers, and SONET/SDH communication applications.

The devices also have an output-to-output skew of 6ps with a 30mA (max.) supply current and an ESD protection of >2kV. The input is reproduced at two differential outputs. The differential input can be adapted to accept single-ended inputs by applying an external reference voltage.

For interfacing to differential HSTL and LVPECL signals, these devices operate over a 2.25V to 3.8V supply range, allowing high-performance clock or data distribution in systems with a nominal 2.5V or 3.3V supply. For differential LVECL operation, these devices operate from a -2.25V to -3.8V supply.

The MAX9320 is pin-compatible with the MC100LVEP11. Differential output voltage is specified >300mV at 3GHz over the extended temperature range of -40C to 85C.

The MAX9320/MAX9320A are available in 8-pin SO, ?MAX, and SOT23 packages.
