Entegris Inc. has entered into a patent licensing agreement with Japan-based Dainippon Ink and Chemicals (DIC). Under the agreement, DIC will be licensed to make, use and market IC trays with a self-aligning pocket. The IC trays, designed by Entegris in Japan, are used to protect and transport ICs for the semiconductor industry.

The agreement also states that DIC will have sublicense rights throughout Asia Pacific and a non-exclusive license to make, use and manufacture the licensed trays worldwide.

Michael Wright, president of Entegris' Microelectronics Group, said, "Licensing this patent provides the industry with greater access to our innovative technology."
