Pulse's gate-drive transformers in surface-mount, toroidal packages minimize EMI in dc/dc brick and discrete power supplies in distributed-power systems, especially those serving industrial control, vehicular and heavy-equipment applications. With packages as small as 7.2-by-6.1-by-2.5mm high, they also go a long way toward shrinking the size of the overall system, the company said.

The transformers' tape-and-reel packaging is said to be compatible with all contemporary pick-and-place processes. "In this age of miniaturized PCBs, there is continuous pressure to reduce component size," said Geoffrey Wildman, senior product manager.

The series comprises eight models with either a 1:1 or a 1:1:1 turns-ratio configuration and inductance values from 330?H to 1.4mH. Since leakage inductance is as little as 360nH, the transformers provide optimum coupling for high-frequency applications, Pulse said.
