Itronix announced at the 3GSM World Congress that it is integrating Sierra Wireless' AirCard 750 network card into its GoBook Max notebook PC. The AirCard 750 allows the laptop to be GSM/GPRS-enabled for use in international GSM markets.

The AirCard 750 will be implemented via Itronix' Common Radio Module Architecture, which allows Itronix customers the option to upgrade the fully integrated radio as GPRS wireless technologies evolve to WCDMA or GPRS/EDGE.

The Type II PC card provides up to 4 transmit and receive channels, and has a 32MB memory. It also provides V.42bis compression and supports SMS and multiple APNs. The AirCard 750 operates at 5V and draws 12mA during standby. It has an operating temperature of -20C to 60C and can withstand up to 15Gs of vibration.
