The i.300 innovative convergence platform is a comprehensive silicon-to-software solution for 3G GSM and UMTS wireless products that provides OEMs and ODMs a tool for building feature-rich multimedia phones and video-communicators. The platform also supports EDGE and WCDMA services.

Showcased at the 3GSM World Congress, the i.300 platform incorporates the company's an ARM core-based DragonBall processor. This provides a full range of multimedia and "infotainment" support, such as Internet access, still imaging, and streaming video and audio.

It also supports Bluetooth technology, and includes image and video capture, as well as compression technology that complies with the JPEG, MPEG-4, and H.263 standards.

The platform also features a reference radio test environment and man-machine interface that provides a typical cellular application feature-set. A manufacturing test environment is also included for type-approval and production line test requirements.

The i.300 platform is supported by the CodeWarrior IDE and toolset from Metrowerks, and Motorola's Embedded Reference Implementation for application development using the Java 2 Micro Edition platform.
