Claimed to be the world's first analyzer for the Infiniband 4X protocol, the IBTracer 4X, shortens engineering development cycles and reduces the costs of developing InfiniBand-based semiconductors, switches, routers, and software.

The 4X InfiniBand protocol extends the existing 1X protocol by supporting up to four 2.5Gbps dual-simplex connections, called "lanes," for an effective duplex transmission speed of 10Gbps.

The IBTracer 4X features multilane link analysis that decodes and displays four-wide lanes and enables the analysis of multilane links that will be used in next-generation products, such as high-speed database appliances that are tightly-coupled to other servers and to SANs.

It also features lane-to-lane skew display that displays information caused by different arrival times of different lanes of data. A detailed recording of skip-ordered sets is also kept to provide engineers with precise data for troubleshooting skip violations.

The protocol analyzer is also bundled with the company's Trace GUI and advanced viewing tool, as well as an IBTracer software for MAD, SDP, and SRP decoding.

The CATC Trace for InfiniBand can be viewed as packets, operations, or as management datagrams. The proper formation of each packet is checked for compliance with the specifications, including the recalculation and checking of invariant and variant CRCs.
