Legend Holdings Ltd has formed a strategic alliance with Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) to make use of TI's communications devices. TI's wireless GSM/GPRS chipset technology will power Legend's mobile handsets, while its OMAP application processors will power a set of Legend next-generation mobile Internet access devices (IADs).

TI and Legend will also explore opportunities for design and development of short distance wireless, WLAN and other telecom products. The products are expected to be released within this year.

In addition to Legend's selection of TI's GSM/GPRS chipsets and OMAP processors, TI will continue to offer Legend its complete portfolio of silicon and software products, which also include RF, analog baseband technology, power management ICs, audio codecs, mixed-signal devices and WLAN and Bluetooth technology.
