Plastic Logic Ltd, a developer of plastic electronics, has signed a deal with light emitting polymer (LEP) provider Cambridge Display Technology (CDT) to cooperate in polymer organic electronics. According to the companies, polymer electronics utilize the diverse nature of organic chemistry to create polymer materials that exhibit the semiconducting properties of conventional silicon technology.
As part of the agreement, Plastic Logic will receive a non-exclusive license for the use of CDT's IP in Plastic Logic's core business and vise versa. The agreement also includes the assignment of selected IP by CDT to Plastic Logic. CDT will also become a shareholder in Plastic Logic. In addition, both companies will cooperate in other undisclosed areas and will continue to work on fundamental polymer research with the Cavendish Laboratory. |
