LeCroy oscilloscope features 5GHz bandwidth

The Wavemaster 8500 oscilloscope features a frontend bandwidth of 5GHz and a sampling rate of 20GSa/s in dual-channel mode. It is aimed at providing provide engineers with greater insight into complex high-speed signals in multiple markets such as communications and computers.

The SiGe-based device offers a long data acquisition record of up to 48 million points for the analysis of complex wave shapes. It has four input channels that can handle up to 2Vrms, with a sensitivity of 2mV/div to 1V/div.

The oscilloscope integrates a 10.4-inch TFT SVGA color display with 800x600 resolution, and provides for a 100Base-T Ethernet interface. It also incorporates the company's X-Stream technology for handling data transfer, and extends support to the Windows 2000 OS.

Measuring 264-by-397-by-491mm, the Wavemaster 8500 consumes <1kV at 940W.
