The company's Embedded Solutions Group has announced the release of five new profiles of its XINGU 8000 series embedded processing solution, which targets the wireless Internet and PDA, networking, automotive, telecommunications and residential markets.

Based on Intel's XScale microarchitecture, the XINGU 8000 performs 500MIPS to 900MIPS, while consuming only 1W to 1.5W. It offers developers and manufacturers added flexibility and faster time-to-market of an FPGA-based design.

The XINGU 8002 employs standard interfaces, design reusability and modularity to provide high-speed processing, low-power consumption, and fast video capabilities for car and bus applications such as navigation, security, entertainment, remote diagnostics, and fleet management.

The XINGU 8010 is a 900MIPS solution for high-bandwidth processing and provides an 800MBps, 64-bit interface memory for fast data copies. It also includes a high-speed external bus interface including multiple Ethernet controllers for hyperspeed transfers, and is aimed towards applications such as security, firewalls, network monitors, dedicated servers, and routers.

Designed for residential gateways, the XINGU 8011 offers up to 900MIPS for high-bandwidth packet processing and CPU-intensive applications including e-mail and file servers, security, firewalls and routing, WLAN access points, and IP telephony.

The 8011 kit provides a high-speed external bus that integrates dual Fast Ethernet, dual PCMCIA, USB and IDE interfaces.

The XINGU 8012 is designed for portable devices such as Tablets and PDAs, and provides a built-in video control touchscreen, as well as dual Fast Ethernet, dual PCMCIA, USB and IDE interfaces.

The XINGU 8015 for STBs is positioned as an IDE for multimedia and DTV applications such as Web TV, e-mail and home shopping, video-on-demand, personal video recorders, and video and phone conferencing.
