Designed for entry-level SANs, the SilkWorm 3200 fabric switch enables users to network servers with storage devices through a SAN, creating a scalable, secure, and manageable environment for storage applications. The device is suitable for small and medium business, as well as enterprises implementing departmental and workgroup SANs.

Based on the company's Intelligent Fabric Services architecture, the 8-port, 2Gbps device supports Windows NT/2000, Linux, and Unix servers, and provides features such as ISL trunking, frame filtering, and hardware-enforced zoning for SAN security. It also has an Extended Fabrics feature, which enables SANs to span up to 100km via DWDM technology over MANs.

The SilkWorm 3200 supports unicast, multicast, and broadcast traffic, and integrates an RJ-45 port for 10/100 Ethernet connection. The 262-by-428-by-42mm device operates at a temperature range of 10C to 40C and is shipped with management utilities such as WEBTOOLS and Fabric Manager to simplify switch management.
